Note to Customers

Historic inflation and High Path Avian Influenza (HPAI) have continued to have a major impact on pricing in the gamebird industry. In addition, a wet snow storm on 2/13/24 damaged a large portion of our flight pens. During the rebuilding process, we are going to make significant upgrades to our biosecurity to meet the increasing standards the USDA and the National Poultry Improvement Plan (NPIP) are requiring. The improvements will not only minimize the possibility of a catastrophic loss in production, it will strengthen our ability to provide you with quality gamebirds without disruptions, even if we are in a HPAI control zone.


Current international trade agreements the United States has with 181 other countries require an entire premise to be immediately depopulated, if only 1 bird becomes infected with HPAI on the premise. As a result, we are going separate our operation onto 8 different premises. Each premise will need to have its own biosecurity entrance building, compost facility, and equipment. We will also need to be able to have dedicated employees at each site, when necessary.


The additional facilities, equipment, and labor will have a significant impact on our cost of production. However, these new improvements, along with our offsite wash facility to wash all vehicles and crates before returning to our farm, will make us the leader in biosecurity efforts in the gamebird industry.


At this point, we are the only game farm in the country with an automatic crate washer to ensure all crates are thoroughly cleaned between trips. We will also be the only producer with drive through wash facilities to clean and disinfect all vehicles and equipment before entering or exiting our premises.
